Special issues

We sometimes publish special issues of the journal, usually linked to themed conferences held by the Society. You can view the contents of all the currently available special issues on this web site. If you would like to purchase a print copy of a special issue, please contact the Editor: editor@localpopulationstudies.org.uk.  They are available at a cost of £10 per issue (including postage and packing).

Local population studies 105 (Autumn 2020): Roger Schofield, 1937-2019

This issue commemorates the life and work of Roger Scofield, founding editor of the journal. The papers were originally presented at the Roger Scofield Memorial Conference, September 2020.

LOCAL POPULATION STUDIES 100 (Spring 2018) Local Population Studies: Retrospect and Prospect

This issue marks the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Local Population Studies Society. The articles review the last 50 years of work in local population studies and suggest new directories for future research.

Originating in papers presented at the Spring 2017 LPSS conference in Winchester, this issue examines the New Poor Law in Britain and Ireland from regional and local perspectives.
