The Society

The Local Population Studies Society is a registered charity, number 326626. It was founded in 1972 to promote all aspects of local population history. What personal information we collect

We collect basic personal information from our members, including name, address, email address and information about relevant interests. We might also collect additional information from members who agree to Gift Aid their subscription. We collect information, including contact details and dietary requirements, for the administration of conferences.

How we use personal information

We use personal information to send paper and/or electronic copies of the Local Population Studies Journal and Newsletter to members and subscribers and to inform them about upcoming conferences and events, or other relevant LPSS news. We do not share this data with other organisations except to provide services directly related to LPSS membership, in particular the mailing of the journal and newsletter.

How we will store information

We store personal information securely in an electronic format (currently at the University of East Anglia), and destroy information which is no longer being used for its original purpose.

How can I submit a ‘Subject Access Request’?

Will this privacy policy be updated?

LPSS regularly reviews its policies, including this privacy policy.
