Colyton in Devon was one of the first parishes for which the parish register data were collected.
We have used the Colyton data to produce ‘worked examples’ describing the aggregate monthly count data and some initial analyses which could be done on similar count data for any parish. The worked examples are contained in .pdf documents describing the baptism, marriage and burial data. Each .pdf document is accompanied by a spreadsheet describing the calculations made and the charts produced. Readers are welcome to use and adapt these spreadsheets as a basis for their own research.
